Ed Koebel is the Chief Executive Officer and Consulting Actuary at CavMac. He has over 30 years of public sector actuarial and consulting experience providing services to all types of public clients. Ed serves as a lead consulting actuary for many State and Municipal level pension plans in the Southeast and other parts of the country. As the CEO of CavMac, Ed leads the day-to-day operations of the firm. He is also the Retirement Practice Leader in our office and is responsible for the development and mentoring of our junior staff.
Ed is an educator for the Certificate of Achievement in Public Plan Policy (CAPPP) for Pension I – Actuarial Principles for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He is also a speaker at conferences for national and local organizations serving public plans in the United States, including NCTR, P2F2, and the Georgia Association of Public Plan Trustees (GAPPT).
Education: B.A. in Actuarial Science from Syracuse University

Ms. Fain is a Consultant of Cavanaugh Macdonald Consulting, LLC. She has been providing actuarial valuation and consulting services for the retirement and OPEB systems covering state and local government employees for over 8 years. Her range of experience includes health claims underwriting, data analysis, gain-loss analysis related to the design, administration, and funding of public Other Post-Employment Benefit (OPEB) Plans.
Ms. Fain has a master’s degree in actuarial science From Roosevelt University and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia.
