What You Need to Know about the State Auditor's Report of Local Retirement Plans

Session Summary: This session will provide a detailed look at the Report of Local Retirement Systems, which is compiled every other year. This report covers the defined benefit plans of nearly 100 cities, counties, school systems, and local authorities in the State of Georgia. Attendees will gain an understanding of what information needs to be submitted and what data ends up in the final report.

Instructors

Eric Moody

Eric Moody is a Manager on the Nonprofit and Local Government team of the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts. He has been with the department for 19 years. He reviews annual audit reports of nonprofit organizations that contract with the state and local governments, which include counties, consolidated governments, municipalities, other political subdivisions (local authorities), and regional commissions. In addition to those duties, Eric has worked on the Department's Report of Local Retirement Plans for the last 14 years.

As a GAPPT presenter, Eric has received information regarding educational instructional methods and adult learning processes.
