Eric is the practice leader for Aon’s Public Sector Retirement practice and is based out of Aon’s Atlanta, Georgia office. In this role, he is responsible for thought leadership, innovation and adherence to actuarial standards of practice and quality assurance procedures for public sector pension and OPEB plans. He also serves as lead consulting actuary and relationship manager to cities, counties, towns, states and other public entities.
Prior to joining Aon in 2015, Eric spent nine years as a consulting actuary focused exclusively on public entities’ retirement and post-retirement benefit programs..
Eric has provided actuarial consulting services for the following public entities: Atlanta Regional Commission (GA), Athens-Clarke County (GA), Birmingham Water Works (AL), City of Atlanta (GA), City of Chicago (IL), City of Memphis (TN), City of New Orleans (LA), City of Pittsburgh (PA), Fulton County (GA), New Orleans Fire (LA), Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PR), Town of Hamden (CT), State of Tennessee (TN) and Utah Transit Authority (UT).
Eric is generally recognized as an expert in public sector retirement plan design and income adequacy. He sat on the State of Rhode Island’s Pension Review Board in 2024. He co-authored a white paper with the National Institute on Retirement Income Security on retirement income adequacy for public sector employees. He’s also been a pioneer of evaluating the “health” or sustainability of public pension plans. Eric is a regular speaker at public pension industry conferences and has been quoted in pension-related articles in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and several local newspapers.
Eric graduated with honors from Georgia State University; he received a BBA with a concentration in actuarial science. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), an Enrolled Actuary (EA), and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) designation. He is also a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
Eric currently serves as the Chair of the Philanthropy Committee of the Atlanta Red Cross and served on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Black Actuaries.
