Summary: Public retirement systems are increasingly implementing leading edge plan document governance and risk management practices to drive accountability, consistency and transparency.  Conducting periodic reviews of your public retirement system’s plan documents (including plan provisions, plan summaries, board or committee policies, and investment management and service provider agreements) is key to heading off future problems and ensuring compliance with applicable law and plan terms.  Having an effective plan document review process in place will help improve performance, communication and minimize risk for the benefit of members of public retirement systems and other stakeholders. This session is from the September 2019 conference. Some content may be dated.
