Session Summary: In April of 2021 the Department of Labor issued Cybersecurity Best Practices Guidelines for plan sponsors to follow in order to better protect membership data and plan assets. This presentation will provide trustees and administrators with some insight as to how these guidelines are impacting the pension industry.This session is from the March 2022 conference. Some content may be dated.

John R. Reidy

John R. Reidy is a principal founder of the Pension Technology Group (PTG). Founded in 2006, PTG is the leading provider of web-based pension administration software solutions designed specifically for the public employee pension administration marketplace. John has help oversee more than 120 pension administration software projects at public employee pension funds throughout the United States. John also manages the relationship with PTG’s Hosting Partner Rackspace to ensure the security and redundancy of PTG’s client data. John has participated in and presented at numerous data security events and conferences geared specifically towards educating public employee pension fund trustees and staff members to the risks of data breaches and cyber-attacks. John graduated from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C where he studied politics.

As a GAPPT presenter, John has received information regarding educational instructional methods and adult learning processes.
