Session Summary: One of the most persistent trends over the past decade has been the outperformance of growth stocks (companies with earnings streams expected to grow faster than the market) relative to value stocks (those with lower price-to-earnings multiples). Over the same period, US equities have dominated non-US equities while the information technology sector has far outpaced the financial sector. Could investment style explain the divergence between US and non-US equity performance?

Prior to Callan, Mr. Smith spent over a decade as Director of Institutional Services at Atlanta Capital Management, where he co-led multiple business units including client service, consultant relations, new business development and back-office operations. Mr. Smith received his B.S. in Political Science from Spring Hill College and M.B.A. in Finance from DePaul University and is a CFA® charterholder.
